In an effort to lose some pounds,
I’ve given up sugar.
Not like all sugar.
Added sugar, candies, sweets, desserts, cocktails.
And I enjoy a lot of those things frequently, so it was/is a difficult.
Who has done this and what was your result?

I think I might join you with trying to get rid of artificial sugar or at least limiting it. I really want to lose some pounds because I don’t like how I look… I’ve tried low carb/sugar before and lost weight but found it difficult to stick to but I am going to try again.
I’m still in the trying-hopeful-yea, I want/need to do that, but just can’t seem to…
It sucks.
It makes me irritable, because I always feel like I should drop all this extra weight after just 3 days of a “clean” food plan.
So, yea – I’m still trying to get the wherewithal… it’s just that food is so soothing/comforting.
I can do without chocolate but all that goes down the pan when it’s my time of the month. I crave it and have to have it. Then it becomes difficult to get back off it.
Download a calorie counter app. Then you can have sugar and still lose weight. That’s what I’ve done and it works.
I’ve done this many times and need to do it again. For me giving up obvious, unnecessary sugar has been good and I’ve lost kg’s thanks to it. First it’s awful to need sugar, but then the need goes away and you notice you don’t actually even miss it that much.
I fall off the wagon though. I consume waaaaaay too much sugar now. I really, really need to cut it down. And I think I will. I need to make up my mind and try my best. This post inspres me to try to live more healthier.
It’s been a few weeks of no processed sugar for me.
I replace it with pure via stevia granules for my tea and coffee.
I have a stevia sweetened sodas too.
I eat a lot of fruit instead of sweets anyway.
I am motivated though as it seems my fibromyalgia is exacerbated by sugar, so I am biased. It is better to be virtually pain free from not having sugar anyday and it beats having to take cold showers which is what i used to have to do to lessen pain.
Ive quit sugar before and eventually the cravings stopped.
