Sugar binge

I ate really well for a week or so then yesterday I went off the deep end and ate a cake. That was 1600 calories of almost pure sugar and fat. I don’t know what the hell is wrong with me.

I was a habitual sugar, and salt binger myself until I got diabetes and got scared enough to generally quit (I occasionally still slip on salty food). Sadly there wasn’t much help for my problem available in the mental health services (they were interested more in “things that would kill you quicker”.) I suggest eating sugar free products, and salt substitutes although they may still mess you up with diabetes (and some will cause a mess in your pants). A past trauma can often be the underlying trigger. I wish you good luck and wish I could be of more help.

Don’t let one slip-up discourage you. You were doing so well and still are, slip-ups happen sometimes.
You’ve got this

Not gonna lie, that was a lot of calories. But as long as it isn’t a regular thing, I think you’ll be just fine.

Ikr, I had 2200 calories yesterday altogether. Needless to say I gained weight.

I’ve been a sugar junkie my entire life. I abuse sugar. I do things like pour a small bowl of oatmeal and put five tablespoons of sugar on the mess. It’s not too different from eating sugar. I’ve had some luck coming off sugar by using fruit juice every time I want a sugar lift. I’ve been drinking a lot of cranberry juice, which also has other healthful properties. You might try substituting fruit juice when you want a sugar fix.

I have been using slimfast and that seems to help, but yesterday was just a bad sugar day. I don’t know why, I just went crazy. Like I gave up or something.

A good tip, I find if I want some sugar I take a teaspoon of honey or nutella, and eat it real slow. After that the cravings usually go away again.

Protean helps stabilize your blood sugar. If you eat a meal with protean in it before you ingest a large serving of a sweet dessert you don’t get that sugar high and sugar crash as much as you do when you binge on sugar alone.

I’ve had this happen literally hundreds of times to me and I still have hope that everything will be alright diet wise.
No worries Leaf.
You’re doing fine. You haven’t given up and that’s brilliant

2200 calories isn’t bad. That’s about a normal daily amount when a person isn’t dieting.

Thanks @anon90843118 and @crimby, I won’t give up. Today is a new day. I’ll do better. Besides after yesterday I honestly can say I don’t feel like I ever want anymore sugar ever again lol.

I’m doing a lot better since my departure. And I might even start being more active again.
