Do you think these meds cause problems like that more likely
Never read it as a possible side effect but they can cause QT prolongation so arrythmias and at worst fainting, these are temporary and go away once you drop the dose or change med. If you’re really worried ask your Dr. Personally I do blood tests and did heart testing EKG last year everything is normal, blood pressure is normal too. I read high blood pressure is a big factor for heart attack
What do you make of this
Why not ask your Dr like I said? I know from reading that early death in sz is mostly from bad lifestyle like obesity and smoking
Yes it can happen. The meds can cause tordes de pointes or whatever its called which can lead to cardiac arrest.
I mean if the meds really caused heart attacks most of us will would be dead lol
Not really. It could be rare.
Is it suspicious that we don’t have much statistics on this kinda thing or do medical not research any of this OR are they keeping it all quiet and hidden?
We don’t have any other option if its true anyways, we can’t live without meds, psychosis can kill too
Personally off meds I get voices that tell me to kill myself, without meds I would probably been dead.
In the uk 40000 thousand per year with severe mental illness die prematurely google says aged 18-74 yrs old
5 x more than someone without severe mh
Some of them might be due to bad lifestyle,
I dont know how much meds affect heart.
Do you do yearly bloodwork and EKG?
Yes but i don’t think sudden cardiac arrest would be detected
Its a rare side effect of clopixol anyway
Oh, you’ll know when you’re experiencing one. Especially if you don’t lose consciousness right away.
Ill be out like a light hopefully bye gone
I wasn’t. Seconds felt like minutes.
when i was on geodon which is the med more likely to have qt prolongation (still very rare) and took trazodone to help insomnia i woke up the first day of the combo and felt normal until i made it to the kitchen, heart was pounding and i fainted about 3 times within what felt like less than a minute. each attempt at getting off the ground resulted it fainting and collapsing again. was pretty scary, every since then i was very cautious as i worried itd happen again,
Thats really scary I use to take trazadone all the time but im on invega
Definitely. All aps have cardio toxicity. Take care of your heart.
