Stupid Facebook Post on Photography

Just was skipping through Facebook and found a ridiculous poll. It was about what the hardest aspect of photography is. Composition and creative process came dead last.

What do you think is the most important aspect of photography?

I guess for a novice, the technical aspects like aperture, ISO etc.

For someone more experienced I’d imagine it to be the more conceptual things

Composition I think.

I was saying composition and creativity were the most important, and this guy got mad at me and said my photography is ugly and lacks vision.

Do you think my photography is bad?

Nah I was just mocking the pomposity of the guy that told you that

Eh take it with a grain a salt, lad.

I once had a dipshit cousin post a military meme. I found it quite offensive as he was never in the military. So I commented “Thank you for your service Sean!” And he replied “Oh, I was never in the military,” to which I replied “My point exactly.”

What is it about the internet that makes stupid jerks?

I think it’s because they can hide behind a computer, so they’ll say things and behave in ways that they never would even dare to do face to face or in person.

This site is different of course as it’s a support site and we share a lot of personal things about our personalities like our symptoms, our past, or just engage in general chit chat.

Don’t let the hype bring you down.

Stay strong brother.

I hope you think my work is good. I’ve been doubting myself.

Your work is great man!

There’s a world’s difference between an insult and constructive criticism.

I mean screw that dude.

He could be a goddamn chomo for all you know!

Probably, finding your audience. There are people out there who would like your style. You just have to find them.

It’s pretty common man, it’s the lack of real interaction through written word. You cannot hear/see the other person so you end up crossing the lines like it’s nothing.

Not everyone is going to think every photograph or photographer is “good”

Not everyone with a camera has a good eye.

Doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks as long as the photographer is enjoying themselves.
