Stuck between muslim and christianity

I am baptized and a christian all my life but when i was 14 i used to watch “syria killing videos on youtube” for some reason i liked watching this kind of stuff. i was never schizo before the drugs… but now at the age of 15 i got stuck in psychosis till now and i used to watch the videos again and again sometimes for hours. i dont even have intense to kill anything but i dont know why i used to like and now its stuck you know when you hear they saying on the videos " allah akubbar" and then i started believing on this and i hate it everytime i think about something my mind says " allah " and i have these images and im only 17 and everything i hear or when i pray to jesus i hear the other religion it really sucks feels like im in to kill but im not… i hate it i take geodon. its my fault for starting with these videos though …

I suggest you tell you doctor about this. Perhaps therapy should be a good option.

you must say farwell to all religion. It is very normal to watch sadistic videos there are a lot of people who do.

It’s all belief man…whatever path God has chosen for you… So be it…

May God bless you.

Maybe you need to cut back on the videos. You don’t want to obsess on them.

I don’t think those videos portray Islam properly anyway. Islam is not a bloodthirsty religion, it is a religion of peace.

these thoughts are intrusive and unwanted i presume,

medication helps but i would definately stop watching these gruesome pictures

those people are evil, they kill innocent women and children, but i guess you already know that

talk to a doctor about it bc from what you said, you need some help and the earlier you get treated the better your outcome,

wishing you all the best

Abandon them both , Islam is clearly the worst of both of them ,

I would thank you not to insult my religion. These Syrian rebels are evil, not true Muslims. Don’t judge Islam before you research yourself what it really is. If you don’t care about Islam fine, but don’t insult it, its not nice, its disrespectful.

I would study the actual gospels of Jesus…not listen to other people…there are numerous factions withing Christianity as there are also among Islam. Some are very radical…the videos sound like the radical type. In the same way warmongering Christians should be avoided.Jesus did not teach war and killing, so you have to look at his teachings and not what some people say.
I have worked with and around some muslims in the past…some were peaceful people, but at least one admitted to me if Islam ever went to war with the US (And he was a US citizen in a US city 1992 & 93) that he would have to fight on the side of Allah…scary thought - and the dudes eyes got all big and determined looking, like he was very serious. The ones promoting that stuff, the terrorism probably target such people with their videos to get people in the US to join their side

i wont say islam is only bloodythirst i respect the religion but i got stuck with the videos and they dont leave my mind, its like they conquered my mind its funny jesus never comes out of my thoughts but islam comes even though i am not ! scary i wanna die on the path of jesus not islam man its scary

Hate to tell you this, but I’ve read all of your scriptures and all of the hadiths (both those favoured by Sunnis and Shiites) and the horrible things ISIS (and loads of other Islamsists) are doing are sanctioned by them. Even encouraged. A discussion of how the believers of a widespread faith interpret its scriptures in real life is a valid conversation. This is not the appropriate place for the debate, true, but whenever someone of ANY faith tells me that discussing their faith should be out of bounds, I tend to disagree.

Getting back to the original post, it sounds like religion is a trigger for negative thoughts and behaviour. Avoiding reading content that triggers this behaviour would be a good start. Getting in for medical treatment would also be a good idea.

Islam unfortunately is encouraging destruction , not many civilised nations wherever it is.

Are you currently getting any help for this? It sounds like you are bothered by the obsession and looking to be free of it. Seeing a doctor about this is probably a very good idea. Also, stay away from any more of this type of content online. It is obviously not good for you.

Good luck.

With all my respect, @pixel seems like you’ve just opened a room for islamophobia and hate based on religion.

I don’t remember if we ever discussed a christian terorism here.

I’m not a fan of most organized religions or religious systems. I find some interesting. Some are just plain nutty. Some are unfortunately very dangerous. The best way to understand a danger is to examine it and discuss who is doing what things for what reasons.

This isn’t the best venue for it, but I suspect that when you crunch the numbers (I have) you will find there is very little of it compared to other types of terrorism.

Would be very nice to not discuss religion here. If someone does feel the need to discuss how he is having difficulty dealing with issues pertaining to a particular belief system, members of that belief system popping in to sternly correct him and make him feel less free about sharing definitely isn’t helpful. The original poster was using this forum in the way it is designed to be used. Getting support for symptoms that are making his life intolerable.

And for the record, I don’t hate people - I hate the bad things people do. Important distinction.

I didn’t suggest that you do. Im not into religious either.

Nothing good comes from generalisations. Fascism, racism, nationalism, for instance.
Also, there is a difference between religion and fanaticism. This thread has started with the second.

I live in a close touch with muslims so i’m pretty aware of what im talking about.

no offense :lollipop:

How about we just politely agree to disagree and leave the topic outside of this community where it belongs?

You’re in charge.

Sarad , this thread is tethering on the brink of being locked. I also understand your from Croatia a land that was blighted by sectarianism and racism. We have liberals here , I tend to be one of them , that jump all over capitalist, emperical and colonial powers , on the question of Islam. But not many of these liberals , understand what an Islamic state means in REAL life. I have looked at your posts and they tend to be on the edge on many issues. Do you ever ask yourself what an Islamic state would mean for a woman such as yourself , with your liberal outlook? It would mean trouble with a capital T.
