Struggling this winter

This winter is really kicking my rear end. I tapered off Trintellix recently, which I think is the culprit. I was on an AD for nearly 8 years – this is my first winter being off of one. I’m not necessarily feeling depressed – just a real lack of energy. Maybe it’s negative symptoms flaring up? Very well could be. Anyways, just thought I would vent/share. Anyone else kinda struggling in this department?

Also, we had a dear friend pass away the other day. My grandpa’s partner (he’s already a widow) passed from pneumonia Monday night. So I’m just feeling empathetic for him. I know he’s struggling with losing another partner.

You could try vitamin d or a sun /s.a.d lamp maybe?

I do take Vitamin D3 every day – the lamp is a good idea. I’ll look into it, thanks @everhopeful

It just sucks that I can’t do my favorite hobbies right now – walk the dog, and barbecue. Just a few more days of these frigid temps. I can do it

Yea, these shorter, colder days can be tough for sure.

Sorry to hear you’ve been having a rough go, and also sorry to hear about the passing of your grandpa’s partner.

I’ve been struggling a bit in between the weather and some issues at home— it’s been a little rough my side as well.

Here’s hoping Spring comes soon! :+1:

Yeah same. I had a near psychotic break even on medicine. I hope you get to feeling better; you’re a good dude, @Tulane

These are the Pegasi SAD therapy light glasses. I bought them from amazon and I use them in the morning for 30 minutes.

I get low energy and sometimes can’t get out of bed or function some days in the winter, but I have found that these glasses really help me a lot.

It’s all good, life happens. What’s important is that I’m not violent or suicidal right now.

Nice, good friends and good food is where it’s at :+1:

Just googled the Halftime Show for this year’s game and looks like it’s Kendrick Lamar— should be decent! :football: :notes:

No doubt! Yeah, Kendrick for the halftime show sounds good.

I’m planning on smoking some wings and burgers for the SB. Never tried smoked burgers before, so I’m pretty pumped for that. I’m more interested in the food spread than the actual game these days lol

This indoors is for the …hi Dr zen here. It happened to spend a lot of time. Indoors is no fun. In fact it’s a lot of collected work. I am five times the Cleaning that I would normally have during spring. I make a Mass And move on. Later I have to come and clean it up. My cat is confused. He thinks.
Because it’s warm inside that it would be warm outside. And having to deal with leaving the house into the icy. Environment. Has its risks.

I have tried a desk lamp and the glasses for SAD, both give me raging headaches. I guess being light sensitive isn’t helpful. Mostly it’s not being able to go out and do the things I normally like to do that is getting to me. I feel you @Tulane

:hugs:

I also struggle in winter.

It’s always worse for me before Christmas. Once we get into the new year I see the light at the end of the tunnel (spring)

The SAD lamp switched me into my current state of mania
No more for me

Haha, yes let’s hope! :dizzy:

(You know it’s rough when the entirety of your mental health depends on whether or not a gopher sees its own shadow  :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:)
