The short dark days are killing me!

Finally, the short dark days of Winter are getting to me.
I’ve been staying at home in my sweat pants and hoodie doing nothing
I lounge about the house and am eating more carbs like pasta.
I don’t know if it’s depression but I have been diagnosed with Seasonal Affective Disorder in the past.
It’s so crippling

There was a small glimpse of sunlight peaking through the clouds today as I was walking into the grocery store. The warmth felt soo nice

I took out my SAD lamp out from the closet
Going to start using it
Hopefully it will help some
It hasn’t helped so much in the past

Oh no @Wave very sorry to hear.

I was going to suggest mood SAD lamp. Good to try yours. I’ve been using mine too. I don’t have SAD but my dr said to use.

Do you take lamictal also? That can help too.

About 20 years ago I moved from NY to FL to get away from the dark, cold, and snowy weather. It’s 5:45pm, and the sun hasn’t set yet. Then there will be about 15 minutes of light after the sunset.

When I was living in Europe I used to go to the solarium. That was helping in winter and I got a taint.

Sad lights are good, I have a special high lumin blue light which mimics the morning light, it’s not a sad lamp but brighter and I screw it into my ceiling bulb holder. It’s very affective.

Also vitamin d helps in winter but don’t have too much because too much vitamin d causes calcium buildup and depression.

@Wave im in bed by 6pm at this time of year. Can’t stand the dark nights.

Hate getting up to it in the morning too.

Summer I stay up later and have more energy.
