Think it’s been 33 days since I stopped the Zoloft my arm shakes uncontrollably more than ever. My pdoc said it may be a “dystonia” as Zoloft doesn’t cause TD. If it is a dystonia can it stop eventually???
It usually shakes the most when I changed the dosage of Zoloft. Right now it is a lot though maybe cuz it’s flushing out of my system I hope it stops.
Hmmm that is a long time later to still be going through med withdrawal. Dystonia is painful muscle spasms, not tremors/shaking…dunno what your doctor is talking about. Are you on any other meds? It honestly sounds like an extrapyramidal side effect to me which are common with APs.
I’m on abilify , and naltrexone and klonopin, and now lexapro. but it only started in reactions to Zoloft. And especially when I got med changes from Zoloft.
I told my pdoc about it years ago and he said it wasn’t a big deal but it’s hard to type my hand and arm shakes and it’s my dominant hand too.
I’ll tell him again next time I see him
It got worse when I stopped the Zoloft. It wasn’t as bad for a while.
I used to be on abilify naltrexone and klonopin. Then I added Zoloft and this started.
He kept me on Zoloft cuz it was working so well despite the side effect until we realized all the anti depressants I’ve tried work well now it’s just a question of side effects. Which is why on 5 mg lexapro now.
So weird. I swear I read somewhere that antidepressants can actually cause TD. It was surprising to me. I don’t think it is as common or well discussed as it is with APs though. But TD tends to manifest as uncontrollable lip smacking or tongue writhing I thought. Hopefully you don’t have it. You may want to try cogentin regardless to see if that helps.
