Do you think the majority of people with sz or others have attitudes that just contribute for stigma? Do you try, in your life, to reduce your attitudes that contribute for stigma? How?
I am open about my illness, proving that one may be a good guy despite having schizophrenia
Im less social since schizophrenia but no ones noticed much because I wasnt very social to begin with just less social than I use to be. But I think thats a stigma about people with schizophrenia that they not social
I do my best to work against the stigma. I like to think I’ve changed some peoples views on schizophrenia. But its definitely an uphill battle
I wear my sz pride shirt and work for a mental health organization working towards battling stigma and other barriers to treatment.
Is there a sz pride shirt? Is it by some organization? Or did you make it yourself?
You can get one here. They have loads to choose from
@Ninjastar thanks been on the website before and the chick in New York is doing cool great work but iam not sure if they will deliver to where I live tbh
Also I think iam one of the good guys I do a lot for charity, volunteering and a campaigner for the biggest mental health charity in the UK fighting stigma, more workers/benefits rights for people with mental health problems and changing people views on mental health, as it is still a taboo subject, with a lot of stigma attached to it aswell
