Would you wear a shirt in public indicating you have sz ?
I would tell anyone who was interested, but I wouldn’t wear a shirt.
fyi (A popular sz youtuber is selling shirts)

I wouldn’t, its not something to be proud of, its sad!
I can’t believe they are selling that, they shouldn’t be allowed of making money and fun of ill people.
I don’t believe she’s making fun, she’s just trying to profit from it. she’s sza
Just no. That would be so stressful for me.
I am very against everyone knowing
I own a schizophrenia pride t shirt and wear it frequently.
No. I wouldn’t. And I think it’s bad taste for those that do.
I regularly tell people i have had psychosis. Am far from secretive about it. But i wouldnt wear a shirt. I want to choose to either tell or not tell, and how, when, etc. I feel a shirt might make them change their mind about me (she is crazy, scary) whilst telling people carefully might make them change their prejudice (ah…apparently someone can have sz and not be like a character in a scary movie).
If I was rich and had no SZ, I would support SZ ppl by buying their tshirts and products but I wouldn’t use the tshirt, maybe as a pyjama.
Would you wear a t-shirt that says I have diabetes or I have leukaemia? No, and I think it is the same.
There is no way im ashamed of my illness, but ive learnt the hard way not to broadcast it.
But if i had a fellow sz that wore a shirt with me - i would be up for that.
When I had a brain tumor, I absolutely wore an ABTA shirt
It’s ridiculous to have such a shirt.
As if having a shirt saying “I have the flu”.
Why?
Flu is a bad example. I would wear a tshirt if I had corona to protect other people.
Its like wearing a tshirt that says I am a psychopath. That would scare ppl.
I think the idea of the shirt is to reduce stigma and raise awareness.
I have no problem if the lady makes a profit. She’s investing her time and money, so why shouldn’t she make a profit?
I wouldn’t wear the shirt because my advocacy days are over. If I was 30 years younger I probably would.
I like her and her youtube channel and I hope she does well.
Are you talking about Living Well With Schizophrenia (Lauren)?
Yes I think she’s great. I’ve been a fan for years.
Me too. She’s a great source of hope for people living with schizophrenia.
I doubt so but I don’t mind talking to people about my sza. Want to publish my story but I wouldn’t want to wear it as that would be silly, kind of like boasting and scaring some people away.
