Starting Vraylar today

Prescribed 1.5 mg to start since I’ve been sensitive to most medications. Medicare covered it because I’ve tried so many APs without success.

Does anyone have anecdotes about its effects on positive and negative symptoms, specifically persistent hallucinations and depression/lack of motivation?

Thanks in advance!

Was that through a Medicare advantage plan? What is your copay?

I have no copay. I have an advantage plan as well as state coverage. Not sure which one actually covered the medication.

The state coverage is Medicaid which is most likely what paid for it

Hi. I’ve been on Vraylar for awhile now. I started out at 3mg, and recently had it upped to 4.5mg. This has allowed me to get a job (along with the help of Ativan). It has really helped my negative symptoms and motivation.

I take it in conjunction with my main AP, 120mg Latuda.

I started 1.5 mg two months ago, helped quite a deal with increasing energy and not depressed anymore, just my normal, chronic sadness.

Strange, but i had not a better effect on 3 mg, on the contrary, it seemed like 1.5 mg was my dose - but i have close to no positive symptoms

Good luck.

Thanks for replying! I’m having a relapse of hallucinations now, but the worst of it has always been the negative symptoms. I’m hopeful.

i started on 1.5mg it gave me bad side effects but we raised it to 3mg cause pdoc says alot of people actually give less side effects with the increase its been a month and some minor improvement

the best to you good luck

I’m on 1.5mg along with 20mg zyprexa. It’s a good med but you do feel it’s stimulating effects.
