Starting new med

saw my pdoc the other day. He wants to switch me to abilify instead of haldol. Currently I am on 85 mgs of haldol depot. Which is a low dose. I am taking 5 mg abilify for 12 days and then in two or three weeks I am switching injection to 300 or 400 mgs of abilify depot. And he said if I am doing well I can lower the dose.

Also, I am sorry if I have offended anyone with any of my posts. That is not my intention.

I actually think I was getting a bit sick. But im doing better now. Getting a lot of stress from my room mate.

If anyone is on abilify please let me know how it is for you.

Just warning you:
I got akasthsia for the first few months.
Apart from that Ive had a few issues. not sure though what is illness n wat is abilify:
tiredness, lack of attention span, reduced exercise ability, low stress tolerance, motivation reduction…

haldol is the best.

@ablue It is not a question of Abilify or any other drug. One thing we have to remember is that there are about 15 medicines for Schizophrenia. Some work well for positive symptoms some for negative symptoms. Now all of them are Schizophrenia medicines. One drug which suits one, may give side effects in other. So the best thing is to report the doctor and he may switch you over to another drug. There is no drug which gives same efficacy universally to all and there is no drug which gives same side effects to every body.
