Im going to my first muay thai training lesson tonight. Hope my anxiety doesnt get the better of me. But mostly im looking forward to it. For those of you who dont know what muay thai is, its a thai form of kickboxing martial art. Really want to get fit and learn a few things. And try to become a part of the community as i just moved into a new unit with my gf. If anyone is into muay thai say hi! If not, wish me luck with it pretty please!
I tried Muay Thai but suffered from too much anxiety. Also I can’t focus and get aggressive. I never get angry either, so there is definitely something wrong with me. Perhaps it’s the psychosis genes or something? I dunno?

Good luck! Don’t expect yourself to be able to do anything yet. Take it one day at a time. Practice mindfulness which is really important when studying martial arts. You’ll be fine

@LilyoftheValley yeah i try to incorporate mindfulness throughout my day. Been reading a lot of buddhist and hindu stuff lately too which is super interesting.

You are making a good choice, kickboxing training is less disciplined then the other martial arts so you will have more fun and get more exercise and do less learning and rehearsing dance moves.
Hey, good luck with that man. Sounds like a blast! I’ve taken Kempo and Hapkido, but never kickboxing. I’m betting it’s going to be a lot of fun
I was freaking out before i started. Like so close to a panic attack. But after we started the training and warming up i got right into it and had heaps of fun. I think im naturally good at it which i never think of myself being naturally good at anything haha.
