Starting DBT again

Just had a quick phone call with a therapist from the DBT center to confirm that I start DBT group again on February 4.

DBT stands for dialectical behavioral therapy. It’s a type of therapy created by Marsha Linehan in the 1970s to help suicidal patients with Borderline Personality Disorder. Today, it is used to manage a variety of conditions like PTSD, depression, anxiety, and even psychosis.

The groups are like a workshop with a leader who teaches you skills in emotional regulation, mindfulness, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.

It’ll be every Tuesday night from 6-8 pm.

I did 8 months of DBT almost a year ago. I just recommitted for another 6 months.

It’s not my favorite thing to do, but I think the skills really are a helpful supplement to the medication.

I started dbt a few months ago and my experience with it has been good…:+1:

It’s a good way to get out the house.
