Spring of 2019 I was suicidal. Mother had died a year earlier. I started drinking again after 2 1/2 years sober. My pdoc put me on an antidepressant, and I’m better now, but I didn’t stop drinking. Right now I’ve been sober for 4 1/2 months, and I hope the drinking is over. I haven’t been to AA since before Covid19.
I hope you’ll be able to stay sober, alcohol is bad and addictive.
They are having online AA meetings.
I quit drinking a few weeks ago when I found out I was pregnant.
Maybe you could enquire into the online support ?
Good point, @Qwerty!
This is a link to find an AA zoom meeting at a time that works for you.
This is an alternative to AA.
It’s what I used to get off the sauce. It won’t work for everyone, but it worked for me, so I share it.
Isn’t there any online AA meetings? I’d look for that. There may also be conference phone call meetings. Congrats on the 4 1/2 months sober! That’s awesome!!!
The last thing I heard is they started having in-person meetings again, social distanced, and face masks. I’ll look into it. Also, a while ago now, I did a telephone voice meeting somehow. I’m waiting for my psychiatric therapy group right now, but I’ll look into it later. I’m not sure if I want to risk the in-person meeting, but I would prefer that.
But you all are probably right. I should start AA again however I do it.
I’m going to the group therapies again because if I don’t participate they could discharge me from the psychiatric care program I’m in.
Wishing you the very best with your recovery and reclaim of mental wellness @anon54988740. Strongly suggest you benefit from weekly 1 hr counselling sessions to help you deal with the causes if possible.
Hang in there buddy. You can do this
My group therapy is over, and I walked about a mile to the AA meeting place. I don’t have a car anymore. There’s a meeting at noon, and I’m sitting outside waiting for it to start. It’s 10:50am now.
