From last October to December I tried to come off meds. Went badly. During that time I spent thousands of pounds I don’t have on stuff I don’t need. Got myself in deep. Feel so foolish now.

For me life iz treating me very badly man…i couldn’t hold up my life…may u stay strong…
That’s what I’m afraid I’d do. That’s why I take my meds religiously. I would never go off of them.

what did you get?
i bought a couple of mountain bikes i cant ride and also a lot of carpentry tools,
i also bought a double sofa bed i didnt really need,

I would say hypomania. I had a bipolar dx for 8 years. Think it was being suppressed by the meds. Not sure. Either way I look back on those months in horror - never gonna do that again.

I throw out everything I own, then when back on meds have to buy it again, unless I get mania then I buy stuff I have no interest in, cycle never ends,

Ah yes… Hypomania is a strange thing in that it causes us to impulsively buy things we think we absolutely need at the time.
But later look back shocked at what we bought during that time.

Me too! Racked up credit card from a happy $300 to $3000 within a short period. I wish I could say I learned but when those moods tip the scales all that learning goes out the window.

I thought my stuff had tracking devices on it. smh
I gave away everything I owned over the last 4 years even before I became delusional because my life was going so badly that I thought I was going to end it and didn’t want to leave a mess for my kids. I regret it now. I had a 5 bedroom house and now everything I own is in a few boxes in my Dad’s garage. Shutter to think how much worse it could have been if I had been psychotic.
Manic spending? No way I’d trust myself with a credit card. Can you take some of the stuff back? Helps if you kept receipts.
