Speech disorder with Clozapine?

Hi everybody i was wondering if the drug clozapine could induce some speech or verbal problems ? im starting to have some difficulties finding the right words when im talking

thanks

When I was at clozapine 30g at 8am and 9pm I would feel like I couldn’t talk well for about 1-2 hours after taking the pills. My parents said
My voice sounded mumblie. Pdoc changed dosage to 200mg at 8am, 3pm, And 9pm
And that has helped tremendously.

I don’t know if it’s the clozapine or just the illness but I find it very difficult to find my words and i mumble a lot.

What’s your dosage?

350 at bedtime. I’m not sure if that will go up

I believe max therapeutical dose is 600mg.

Hi mike23 and Arlbar  ,

Here’s my story
i was prescribed clozapine since 2014 (along with risperdal back then) when i had to be hospitalized and since then i am getting to feel desensitize or depressed, perhaps because of the long exposure to the drug, my dosage is 400mg but i only take 50mg since this year and only at night because i would feel dizzy in the morning. The scary thing is that i had to go back to college (i was studying Law and english) but i feel like my intelligence decreased each year like if i had dementia or else…

btw im french sorry if i make any spelling mistake

Here in France the max therapeutical dose is has high as 900mg, that could put a horse to sleep lol

Arlba how long did you start using this medicine ?

About 6 months ago. I think I need a stronger dose.

It could just be the illness. I’m not on that drug but one of my major symptoms is exactly what you described.

ZombieMombie OK thanks for the information

I have not had a speech disorder from clozapine itself but I was in the psch ward at my local hospital a good 16 years ago. They discharged me one night and I went home and went to bed and woke up the next morning and I was unable to speak, I stuttered so bad I was unable to say my own name. I was like that for 16 years. Finally I stumbled upon something called methoxyisoflavone, an obscure dietary supplement that no one has ever heard of before. I tried it and it miraculously cured me of the speech problem, without a trace! A supplement called Suma Root also helped a little bit, these 2 things together eradicated the problem completely! Recently I ran out of the methoxyisoflavone and couldn’t get more shipped to me in time so I tried something else called Beta Ecdysterone, that worked even better, and it is cheaper! If you have a speech problem I would highly recommend trying one or both of these!

I’m not on clozapine, but I experience the same thing. As someone else suggested, it may just be the illness.

Yes,it could happen with Clozapine!

I think that you should go down instead!

Do you know your Clozapine serum level?
