Someone's using my email address to create an account at a pharmacy

I just got an email from a pharmacy saying “click here to activate your account”.

I didn’t click the link obviously and forwarded the email to the pharmacy in question saying I never tried to create an account.

It’s a bit unsettling.

Could also be a scam couldn’t it? Did you verify the sender email?

Scammers often do stuff like that. “You have a usp package waiting please verify your address” then they use it to get your info to add to their database.

I had similar happen to me. Turns out the persons real email was like 1 character different from mine and they made an error when filling it in

That’s what I initially thought, but the link to activate the account looks legitimate. I.e. it points to the website of a legitimate pharmacy. The link looks real.

I got the main contact email address of the pharmacy from their website and forwarded the email to that address.

At the moment, it looks like some has tried to create an account with my email address.

Maybe change your email password for a bit of extra security?

Scam attempt.

Pay it no mind. You did the right thing by not clicking on it. Don’t lose any sleep over this…I’ve gotten worse scam attempts before.

It wasn’t me. I only use your email to sign up to porn sites.
