Someone here on this forum said to me that people with simple schizophrenia diagnosis don't need to take meds, he says it will worsen negative symptoms. Is it true?

Yeah it’s bad I attempted suicide 3 times

Physiotherapy clinic, not a Drs clinic.

I told him like 10 times to ask his Dr and to see a different Dr if he’s not sure of his diagnosis. He said he has no positive symptoms so why would he be on meds that worsen sz. I told him to tell this to his Dr like 4 times.

And your words can be taken by some people as gospel. Some people are seeking anything to say they don’t need meds or have sz. Pay attention to who you discuss things with and how they react carefully.

I’ve read that people have simple schizophrenia have delusional ideas and have interest in unusual topics…

was it me …tho i have manageble psychosis… i am niraj and i am nepal…

Wow positive symptoms. What typically are these? I find it all to be a real pain. Paranoia especially.

@neanderthal Positives and negatives in the spectrum of sz and mental illnesses, are meant to describe symptoms that adds and take away from you, rather then good or bad…

Like hallucination and paranoia is an add on symptom, where anhedonia is a phenomenon where the illness takes away the ability to feel pleasure.

@Abise thank you for describing that for me. I’m still very new to all of this. Although not new to the meds. It’s been a long and strange road. I’m only now beginning to accept it all. Your wisdom is appreciated and please excuse my naivety.

You cannot stop your medication even if you have no positive symptoms before starting medication. The reason is you been taking it for a long time like 2 years so even if you have no schizophrenia or other mental illness these drugs usage made you dependent on it just like benzodiazepines so when you stop these abruptly high chance you might become psychotic thats why doctor refusing to stop medicines and not because its still needed for schizophrenia with only negative and cognitive symptoms.

First, you may be able to go without meds if you can still function. However, if your problems are preventing you from living your life and functioning in society then meds may be required. That’s up to you to figure out, not the doctor. Can you function and live your life? However, from what I have read meds tend not to help with negatives

I don’t really have negative symptoms and my meds didn’t make me experience any negative symptoms.

Third, everyone has a unique experience with medication. What works on one person doesn’t work on another or has intolerable side effects. You simply can’t draw any conclusions until after you try a given medication and see what happens.

I never spoke to you about that. Your mind is really mixing things up. It wasnt even in your thread that I said I wanted to have my own physiotherapy clinic. Learn to fkn read english lmao

Knock it off you two.

This is exactly why I told you to be careful @Aziz.

I suggest you avoid each other.

I never told him any of that, he read it in my own thread I made about Abilify lmao

I’ll look this up. I suggest you place him on ignore and avoid each other.
