Some people don’t understand

My friends honestly live the easiest, most sheltered lives. I’m not upset with them for that, it’s out of their control. What I am upset about is how little they understand. They ■■■■■ and moan when I dare to bring up my illness or sexual assault, and refuse to interact with me if I’m on meds they don’t like, or (heaven forbid) I’m depressed or psycotic. They’ve told me to “just deal with it”, and explicitly stated they didn’t care and couldn’t stand to be around me. They won’t let me hang around other mentally ill people, they claim they’re “not good for me”. It’s getting to the point where I want to tell them to ■■■■ off. They have no empathy, I’m tired of being mocked and criticized :triumph:

You still consider them friends?

This is a teenage dilema

Ditch them if they’re not right for you

You don’t need to put out with anybody

Yeah, I don’t really have anyone else

They don’t support you, so they are not friends.
Don’t stay with them just because you’re lonely.
they don’t deserve your friendship

I wouldn’t assume that anyone can relate

that’s why my two best friends also have mental illness.

Awww daze that’s so nice to say I’m one of your two best friends. You are dear to me as well

Take care now

Normies are often insensitive because they think MI is either dangerous or a whim that some people get. They are rarely able to empathise.

If you’ve tried explaining that to them and it proved useless, then maybe it’s time to part ways. You don’t need cold shoulders, you need support and affection.
