Some kind of scary action this morning (am I being a drama queen?))

I was sitting in my living room and noticed the smell of gas.

I went to the kitchen and a burner had been left on.

All night.

I freaked out.

Called the gas provider to see if it was safe to be in the home,

Opened all the windows and got out with my dogs.

My husband wouldn’t get out of bed despite the room smelling of gas.

I opened windows in there too.

The gas company came and told me it was safe to go inside now.

He thinks I was being a drama queen.

I don’t.

Was I?

You certainly weren’t being a drama queen. You’re lucky to be alive.

You were not being a drama queen. Gas leaks are very serious.

Thank you.

My husband didn’t even come out of the house and said I was overreacting.

Well, I wasn’t there, but near my city, there is a member of the military whose full time job it is to go around investigating reports of gas leaks in person and say things like: I don’t care WHO tells you differently.

There were no delusions with regards to how the gas was turned on correct? Am i reading into that?

No.

I probably accidently left it on myself.

I was just afraid of carbon monoxide poisoning.

You did not over react nor were you being a drama queen.

Exposure to gas is a serious occurrence

My hubby did the exact same thing. Wouldn’t get out of bed. I was panicking. I ended up pouring a pan of cold water over his head to get him out. He’s still resentful but at least he’s alive resentful.

Honest I dont take anything I sense for granted whether or not its dramatic or weird its good to pay attention and be aware. some people call it hyper-sensitive, not the same as a drama queen.

That’s scary! You definitely weren’t a drama queen. Perfectly reasonable to check things out.

ALL gas companies recommend leaving the premises. ALL. For EVERY instance of a gas leak, even a burner left on.

“As every report of a gas leak is a potentially hazardous situation, we recommend you evacuate the premises along with any family members and pets and wait for our technician to arrive.”

ALL gas companies have similar warnings

You absolutely were not being a drama queen. You did an excellent job in handeling an extremely dangerous, potentially deadly situation. Your husband is a dick and should be impressed with how calmly and rationally you handled it. You knew exactly all the right things to do.

…And I personally like the fact that you got the dogs out but left the dude in there. lol

I’m freaking out now.

I feel like I almost died and I’m very disturbed by that.

I could have done so many things this morning to cause an explosion or just died of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Scary.

Very scary.

As someone who survived a natural gas explosion, no, you did everything right. Tell your hubs I said he is a doink who should listen to you more.

Carbon monoxide exposure can cause people to feel lethargic and grumpy. Maybe he is just still getting it out of his system? But no. You are not a drama queen. You saved all your lives.
