Carbon Monoxide Warning

My alarms just went off and it was a carbon monoxide warning.

My dogs were going nuts,

I was in the middle of dialysis with my mother in law.

It was a total mess.

Now the alarms have stopped and I don’t know what to do.

I opened the windows and doors,

What are you supposed to do?

Normally its a 911 call here, best to call you local fire dept and have them check it

You’re supposed to get outside. Opening the windows and doors should help along with turn ing on fans to move the air around.

Perfect timing, jeez just when your in the middle of doing something as important as that.Chimney blocked?cookers or ranges on? Call poison control maybe that’s very dangerous. Ours went off as well once. I’d say once you open the windows should be fine, ours was it didn’t go off again. If it does then there’s real danger

I agree that you need to call for emergency help. Carbon Monoxide needs to be taken very seriously as it can make you sick or, worse, be fatal. Please be careful!

Did you call emergency services? Are you ok? Did you get outside?

We went outside for a little bit,

Now we’ve got all the windows and doors open.

I’m apprehensive about calling the fire department but I might.

I think you should do they can find the source.

Open all the windows and call your local fire department.
They will send someone to check the levels.

It’s a simple procedure.

I once smelled smoke in my house. I couldn’t find the source. I told my family and they said not to call and that I was overreacting. I called anyway. It turned out our furnace was on fire! I was so lucky the whole house didn’t explode. I was right to call.

Call non emergency fire department and let them know and ask what their protocol is. They might send someone out, they might just tell you what you should do.

I’ve called non emergency fire department several times for smelling smoke. I always tell them I’m not sure if I’m just imagining it and they pretty much always come out for reassurance.

You are supposed to call from outside, not inside. :bird::bird::bird:

It’s not like you’re imposing. It’s their job.

I called the Fire Department,

They came out and did a reading on the house.

They got a small spike in carbon monoxide in my laundry room,

But not enough to be concerned with.

The nice fire fighters cleared the house.

I feel better now.

Thanks for the advice everyone!
