Vote for politicians who will fund science. The eventual cure will probably not come from drug companies, because they aren’t looking for a cure (they are looking for treatments though). The people who are doing audacious work are in the universities and research hospitals. Support, by supporting government funding, projects like the Human Brain Project and Obama’s BRAIN Initiative. The NIH supports research at universities and hospitals. You remember the stem cell study with the rats? NIH funding. Then there’s the DARPA funded project on mental health with the implants.
It’s going to take time. We have the nearer term hope of computational drug design for more effective medication with fewer side effects. For a real cure though, the technology that might lead there is pretty young. I’m talking about CRISPR, stem cells, optogenetics, etc. To get a full computer brain simulation, we probably have to get to exaflops scale computing (the number of operations per second that are possible) which will happen between 2018-2022 - just the computer power, the simulation has not been created. Even then though, the power required to operate it would equal the output of an entire power plant. So that may come after there are further breakthroughs, perhaps in quantum computing, optical computing, neural computing, or something else which may be powerful and more efficient. Quantum computing will open up massive opportunity in modeling of molecules and their interactions with the human body, as well as machine learning (AI) Quantum computers already exist, and are being used, but they have not reached quantum supremacy, which means they aren’t yet more powerful than state of the art traditional supercomputers.
The advent of two way brain computer interfaces and less expensive and incredibly powerful and accurate brain scanning tools and all the other technology mentioned above are making it entirely possible that we will have a cure within our lifetimes. But it’s going to take time, money, and scientists.

But I find particular to happiness that it contains in some specific events like having relationship with partner, earning money, something joking, some adventure, sure future, kicking some body enemy etc. And peace is in… (you can find it, its too long to explain). So both of it is not in your life.
Yes aku everyone in this earth are not so lucky …some people are borned with no eyes no leg some are deaf and dumb …we have to tolerate what god presents to us …and sz is god gift to us …we have to live with it…
Well I didn’t read everybody’s post but I believe that a cure happen once 3 things happen. First our understanding of the disease is greatly increased so we know what causes it. Second we develop self-replicating nanites that can pass the blood brain barrier or be injected directly into the skull. Third some type of programming, I don’t know if we would need an ai to handle this. This would work if the problem is solvable in a mechanical type of way.
No @far_cry0, u will succeed. Hope u did well on ur exam, when i was going to school i was getting mostly A’s (that’s the highest grade in US) so u can do it. I just hope u stay motivated enough to work. I was going to university without hopes of working so it was lost cause.
Does it have to be that bad, “deal with it”. I think the voices and hallucinations are important for daily function. Instead of relapse. understand. Life is demanding with out understanding so try to understand. You can’t dream then stop. You cannot stop to dream. It just happens for a lot of us. People with schizophrenia have day dreams I think. It’s just we’re so paranoid about the voices and hallucinations we lose sight of it. Everyone is going to hurt you, you just have to know who to take the pain for. Mostly due to misunderstandings…Anyways. I don’t agree we have to play the hand we’re dealt we can change. Just live your life…right? Good Luck
