Hi,
I have to ask, how close are we to a cure for this dreadful disease? Tell me that it can be done in under 10 years. I really dont want to spend my life, wasting away, unmotivated to do anything, I want a few good productive years before I pass on.
Same here mate. This has to be the worst illness/disease.
I havnt got a great pdoc either. He is firmly from the school of over medication. Im just sick of this situation. I want some solid evidence supported data which says we are close to a cure. APs medication is not a cure as im sure the sufferers on this board realise.
I tried to contact many of the top-notch scientists in the field. Most of them didnāt write back. Some did, and they are cautious about advancing a deadline for the long-awaited schizophrenia cure. They tell me āprogress is being made as we speakā and āseveral products are currently being studied for negative symptomsā and āas genetics and brain imaging advances, we can expect to see strides in schizophrenia research tooā. One scientist who spoke at the Broad Institute in 2014 said something about ā20 years till we win the fight against schizophreniaā - that would mean 2034 at the earliest.
Every day is a struggle for me too, but I donāt lose hope easily. Our time will come !

I donāt think we are anywhere near a cure. The disease is more treatable than it has ever been, but itās a struggle even when things go well. Just have to ākeep buggering onā as Churchill was wont to say.
this may sound blunt by all accounts but the brain is the most complicated thing on the planet, all we can do is try and calm it down if it gets out of whack to reduce symptoms,
i personally think meds will not be a cure all but i think maybe if you use a good med and keep a positive outlook then things will look brighter for the future. good luck.

I donāt think weāll have a cure for schizophrenia so early, just a good treatment. Maybe with ITI-007 weāll get a great advance. The med is in its phase 3b test, so I hope itāll be in American market in 2018.
I could not afford iti-007 for years.i wish iti007 can reduce to other drugs price like invega because i could take my medicine without coverage.100 dollar can ok for me.
