I woke up this morning to find I had wet the bed. I am staying at mums house right now so I was utterly mortified.
Apart from when I was on clozapine, I haven’t wet the bed since an infant. Yeah I have had a few close calls (the dreams where you are peeing in the dream) but always got up in time
But last night there were no dream warnings - just woke up wet
Background - I have been nursing an infected tooth for a week or so. I saw a dentist about it last week but it is bad again. Yesterday I woke up at 4am with pain and couldn’t sleep again
So last night I was utterly exhausted. Plus I have been trying to stay hydrated so been drinking extra fluids
Another thing is I was with my mum yesterday out in the village. I was near hysterical with pain and fatigue and my landlord said hi from behind us. I didn’t know it was them and my face made a scowl. Was really worried I had upset them
Finally like I said earlier I am not in my own bed. Flat renovations mean I am in an unusual bed in a strange house.
I am now really worried it will happen again tonight.
Sorry folks if all of this is too much information. My folks are away on holiday so have been stewing in shame on my own all day
Jimbob warm + staying very.hydratet = peing
that would.happen to all of.us.
thats not the exeption but the rule.
that has nothing to do with meds.
besides we are all growing older.
I’m sorry @Jimbob . I’m sure that was really embarrassing. But luckily it was at your mom’s house. Accidents do happen.
When I was at my mom’s house recently, i suddenly had to go to the bathroom. As soon as I stood up, I had diarrhea all over her favorite cream colored lazy boy chair. It was awful! Luckily, I was able to get the stain up and it turned out ok. But still, it really sucked, so I totally understand.
Your mom won’t judge you for it. I’m sure she feels bad that it happened to you and that you got so embarrassed.
I understand you feel embarassed. But as a mum I can say: I would in no way ever judge my son for such a thing. Or feel any different about him. I am sure your mum would not judge you either.
Also, if I understand right, they are away? And you can just wash the sheets?
Maybe stick to the old rule of not drinking before bedtime. Do not feel bad. And check what you can do about it, might it happen again. Such things happen. My bladder is stupid from baby + getting older + meds. I recently did not make it to the toilet in here. Feel assured, accidents like that happen to many people, though nobody ever speaks about it.
I tonally agree with you Marian. As a schizophrenic and caretaker of my old mother who has the illness aswell.
I would NEVER judge my mother for her actions or words.
