Never heard of it.
I’m going to inquire to switch from Invega pills to depot.
Do you prefer pills or depot?

I get less side effects from the depot for sure. Also I think overall it made me more healthy than the pills.
But after ten years of injections you build up scar tissue at the injection sites. This can hurt a bit but not much tbh

Plus depending on your health care provider you might need to go to a clinic to get it administered. This can be a hassle if you are not feeling well.
But I think you are in Belgium right now? My friends gets theirs done at home

Do you take on arm or gluteal muscle? Do you alternate left and right? Is it the same spot for the injection?

When I took the shot I went in a sort of circle. Right arm, right glute, left glute, left arm. Repeat. Reduces scar tissue growth.

i am on a depot too, jonathan. I am on risperdal consta 50mg 2 weekly. but if you are on invega you can ask for the invega depot huh =)
and like jimmer said my gp doc comes to give it to me at home every 2 weeks.

@anon10627598 told me there is a 6-monthly injection of Invega. I want that one!
Twice a year seems very practical.

ah yea i heard about that before too. that would be really nice huh =D. They are expensive usually but in belgium you don’t have to pay most of it because healthcare takes care of it.

Hey @mangojuice this one is only licenced for gluteal injection apparently. So they alternate left then right. Never really in the same spot. But I get it every 2 weeks so a fair few injection sites

Jimbop that’s catastrophically if you no longer can get depixol can’t you write to the company Lund beck and request for 5 amp. of depixol. If you feel well on that depot that would be like Russian roulette to switch to another depo.
I’ve have ensured myself from shortages by buying 15 ampoules 500 mgs Clopixol to One year of usages. I really feel with you that you can not get your main meds.

I am going to speak to the pharmacist on Monday to get the exact details. If they are still having problems I will approach my nurse to see if the hospital pharmacy might be able to help
