So my husband is going into the hospital for a week later this month to have surgery knee replacement. My 18 year old son is yelling at me alot, swearing at me and super mad I am having my mother stay with us a week when he goes to watch his 10 year old little brother. But no, I don’t think he is mature enough, I am gone 10 to 12 hours a day for work. Old enough, but not mature enough. You figure that is paranoid? I don’t seem to be sympotmatic otherwise at all, so don’t know why I ask. But thought I’d ask.
I think you have a realistic grasp of the situation. No, I don’t think you’re paranoid.
Nah…im sure there are lots of younger people not mature enough for lots of things.
I think that you are doing a great job being able to anticipate this.
I don’t have kids or interact with them so Im not a authority but I still think that you are doing great.
Maybe different situation. But I can leave my kids with food or money to pizza when both me and my husband work. They are 14 and 10. I have few rules, like NO swimming without adult supervision. But they sleep til 11 AM. Eat lunch and then My husband is home to 7 PM and makes dinner. My older son has hallucinations and paranoid thoughts. But he is in control. He started on Abilify a week ago. I’ve taught them to cook simple meals. I trust my oldest son with the stove. But not the younger boy. He is easily distracted and I guide him on the phone when he cooks pasta and meatballs.
