That my prescriber thinks I have schizoaffective, depressive type, not bipolar type… they diagnosed me as schizoaffective last time I was in the hospital but they never said what type… is there really a way to tell?
Schizoaffective disorder bipolar type requires symptoms of bipolar, being manic episodes and what not. I wont lie docs can kinda be weird with diagnosing stuff. I dont second guess them, its their field of expertise, but I do ask questions to understand better.
My diagnosis was sza depressive type, then it got changed to sza bipolar type after my pdoc recognized I was manic af. Chances are it changes again in the future.

I def felt manic before/during my breaks… but maybe that was just the schizophrenia…
I have sza bipolar type. My mood swings are mostly to depression. I can get hypomanic for a few days the longest time, but on meds only a few hours. But my depression lasted sometimes for two months.
Sometimes I wonder if I have sza depressive type but I have history of bipolar tendencies. Some drs in past diagnosed me with bipolar. My very first pdoc in 2002 diagnosed me with bipolar but within a few months the sz part of my sza became clear.

When I had my first break they told my parents it was either bipolar or schizophrenia… but it’s def schizophrenia mixed with something
