So I figured out what I wanna do with my days

And that’s physical exercise and sports. Specifically playing basketball because it’s my favorite sport to play and I’m pretty good at it too.

I haven’t played in over 4 years but I think I still could be good at it. I might eventually get a gym membership.

I realize if I can’t work. I might as well be doing something productive. Like practicing playing basketball and exercising. Eventually I’d like to join an adult league at the ymca

Well i played basketball by myself for 30 minutes outside in 85 F heat. My jump shot was not what it used to be. All my shots were short. My knees were not what they used to be. My lungs and endurance too. But my form was still relatively there. It was a great workout I sweated a lot. I plan on playing tomorrow again.

I need something good for my self esteem. I used to play basketball and I was so good yet I was a short skinny white kid and people would get so mad at me for being good. I doubt it’ll ever be like that again. But in sports I hold no mercy. In every other facet of life I show mercy. I’m not afraid of showing no mercy in sports. It would be good for me if I could get to that level again. And my physical shape will benefit too for preparing for basketball :basketball:

You could practice for a while and then join an adult intramural team.

basketball is great exercise. I find it kind of distracts from what you’re really doing, which is getting some exercise in.

I’ve thought about going back to a rec league, but the older I get, the more I fear injury. so I just workout at home. my brother in law still plays in leagues and he’s in his 40’s.

I just gave up the hemp flower today and needed something to do, so I got my dumbells out. Man, I have very little upper body strength. I go to the gym and ride the elliptical everyday, but that’s all lower body.

I’m hoping I stick with it. I’ve never done weights long enough to get results…

Good luck!

I did 25 push-ups and 25 of 4 different ab workouts. Wooo. Feeling great!! May do more later.

Good stuff, this reminds me of me and cycling although I’ve no plans on competing

I’m focusing on my Tai chi and now doing cardio and weight training and focusing on my artwork. Good luck to your goals.

Good for you. I’ve found that keeping fit for cricket really drives me to do better. It is also good for my game for sure. Finding worthwhile things to do if your not working really can improve your life in positive ways. Volunteering works well for me.
