This is bumming me out, I thought I called all my meds in way ahead of time just to be certain and then it comes up at the last second that this med hasn’t been approved by the docs.
This medicine is for my akathisia or however its spelled so I didn’t think I’d need a review, but I guess I did and they neglected to tell me?
I use Clonazepam 1mg
how screwed am I in terms of bad side effects that could come up from not taking it for 2-3 days?
I take 1.5mg clonazepam every night for insomnia but it doesn’t really help with my akathisia, When I wake up and take my antipsychotic I get akathisia.
I use Trazodone for akathisia. I take a small 25mg dose (half a pill) at the same time as my antipsychotic and have no problems anymore.
Trazodone isn’t a controlled substance like clonazepam, its actually an old antidepressant but it works phenomenally well for akathisia.
The thing is I walked into urgent care and they said they can’t do anything on the weekend. I literally asked them they said no, I got a call back and they told me a number to call if its urgent and I called and they said no.
Its because its a controlled substance. Not one single pill was offered. I went to the emergency room at the local hospital and the likewise advised me that no one does weekend stuff for controlled substances.
Clonazepam has a half life of up to 60 hours. That means it will take about 2.5 days just for half of it to be eliminated from your body, you might experience a little bit of withdrawal but you’ll probably be okay.
I’ve missed a dose of my daily clonazepam and I was totally fine. I waited til the next day and took it as usual.
As for your akathisia that might be a bit of a problem. You’ll just have to hold out. The weekend is over tomorrow.
I took them for anxiety during car rides but um it didn’t seem to help and I told my doctor that and I was going to not take it anymore but he told me to try it for akathisia and because I’d stopped taking them since they didn’t work I didn’t have experience with if it would help, so I began regularly taking them for that.
Apparently this specific one was a good match for latuda from what my previous doctor said.
