I don’t know what his title is, he’s like a supervisor but not really. He does most of the heavy work and he takes over when the boss is sick. He’s above the rest of the crew but it’s rare that he does any supervising.
About two months ago I was sitting down for a second because I was cleaning the women’s restroom and a woman went inside and I had to wait for her to get out. This guy comes in and sees me sitting and got a disgusted look on his face. I explained what I was doing and he says, "I don’t see how you’ve made it here this long (11 years). I had just gotten a work performance review by the boss a month prior and got high marks in most areas and I told the guy that. He just walked away.
I didn’t let what he said bother me for too long, everybody knows he’s kind of an as*hole with a bad temper and other people have complained about him and the way he treats us. Then yesterday it was time for me to punch out for the day and the guy asks me to help him. He said, “You can work a few minutes extra, you don’t do any work around here anyways.”
I let it slide and didn’t say anything back but what an as*hole for saying that. I’ve been working there 11 years and my boss likes me and like I said, he just gave me high marks on my work review not too long ago. And I never get any complaints about my work so I figure I’m doing an OK job. So this is a prime example of taking criticisms with a grain salt and considering the source.
That was great how you handled that situation. You don’t want to let anything bad happen to you because of him. I am saying it would suck if you got in trouble because of that guy being a jerk. He is not worth it.
No, I don’t get bullied, he’s the only one like that. I’m separate from everyone else because they all take their breaks and lunch together and I chose 10 years ago to take my breaks alone. So yeah, there’s a distance between me and the rest of the crew but I still prefer taking my breaks alone and they’re not rude towards me, a couple of them rarely talk to me but a couple of them are friendly to me. I like the way things are pretty much.
I worked a two shifts at McDonalds once but immediately quit because of snide remarks and bullying (in my case, it was outright bullying) - she was sarcastic about everything in particular my speed of making burgers/meals. I left thinking I’m not meant to be treated that way
I would have wanted to clock that ba-stard…but you kept your cool and handled it well.
I was always caught on break at the shipping company by the Brass. I worked my tail off for 2 hours…sat down for 15 minutes…always right when the Boss walked by.
