Smoking advice

I just joined the gym, and part of the way I am going to fund it is by cutting down on my smoking habits.

Has anyone got any advice on reducing smoking, and any tips on how I can be successful?

I used to spend the equivalent of $300/month on cigarettes. Then I switched to vaping and spend about $30/month now. So that’s an option.

I tried the vape before. It didn’t work out that time but I guess I can try it again.

I am hoping the exercise might make me feel more healthy and I might stop completely

Vape setups are like meds. You have to find the right combo for you by experimenting.

I might need to go to a vape shop to do that.

I didn’t know much when I did it before, and I just used a supermarket vape

im 3 to 4 weeks off the smokes. my strategy is to have lots of snacks on hand in case I want to smoke. I figure it’s better to put on a little bit of weight than it is to be smoking. good luck with your quit.

Don’t…………………………

Not that easy.

I started smoking when I was 11.

I substituted smokes with coffee. But I don’t recommend that if it gives anxiety or nervous energy. It worked for me. Maybe you could substitute it for something else you really like? That was 20 years ago for me

I already drink a lot of coffee.

I remembered I had a cigarette counting app on my phone.

I am thinking I allow 15 per day and stick to that

Just throw the pack a way and never look back is what I learned to be the best way

Replace bad behavior with good. Don’t buy cigs. When you feel like one do some exercise. If you need it talk to your regular doctor about help. There’s some good programs for giving up these days.

Wellbutrin has been reducing my cravings a lot. It’s sold under that name as an anti-depressant, and also under the name Zyban as a smoking cessation aid. It may or may not be a good idea depending on your sz/sza symptoms though. I asked my psychiatrist about it and he okayed it. I’m trying to quit entirely but in the mean time I’m smoking a lot less. I just don’t get the cravings.

It’s a 300 dollar a month habit, smoking a pack a day in California. This state’s prices are ridiculous. In Virginia a pack of smokes costs like 5.50… it’s literally double here.

They had a smoking cessation clinic at my GP practise, but it’s closed now.

I did give up for 18 months before, but I relapsed.

My mother doesn’t think I should quit yet as there is a lot going on and she doesn’t want me to stress about it

Where I am 50 grams of tobacco is £18.50

20 smokes is about £12

The tax is so high

I know.

The main way I afford it is by getting people at work and family to get me duty frees.

When I go on holiday you can get a pack of 20 Malboro red for £3 or golden virgina tobacco for £10
