Hi guys,I have SZ which is obvious but I feel I am doing better then I used to.Now I am on 5MG Olanzapine,the thing is no matter how low my antipsychotic doses are I always felt very dizzy and sleepy in the morning.I thought my sleepiness went away but it only lasted for two weeks now every morning while going to work and first two hour at work,I am sleepy as hell and can was once describe as being unconscious by my brother.Does Anyone faces this kind of problem also?
Since young i was asthmatic and was treated with asmthmatic medicine,and my memory is that since young I was sleepy in class and I think I am born like this and will never ever get away without feeling sleepy
Well antipsychotics are renowned for sedation even on low doses. I think it very much depends on the person.
I’ve friends who go to regular doctors to do sleep tests. Rule out sleep apnia and other concerns. There are other things that can cause sleepiness and if your worried go see a regular doc and see what they think.
Although it’s not as bad as having bad moods or anxiety,but it defitnately reduce my quality of life a bit.I am lucky as in my mood has been better recently and anxiety not as bad as it used to be,still trying to improve and recover
I get insomnia here. So, I have the opposite problem. But then I fall asleep other places during the day. My AP helped with the insomnia, but it is still there on some nights and I was never a very deep sleeper.
Do you feel like you are falling asleep during the day because of your insomnia? That’s what I feel like. At least now I usually get 6:30 to 7 hours sleep. It used to be more like 3-4 hours. My pdoc prescribed doxipen for sleep. It is another AD, but it makes you tired too. So a win win for me. Less depression and tired too.
I see. I guess people who take APs need more sleep? I would like more sleep at night time than 7hrs. I would like 8. But I can’t sleep for 8 hours. So I sleep during the day somewhere.
