Sleep apnea

So I slept fine last night, as I usually do… but after my mom left today, I decided to have a nap. I had about a 2 hour nap but about 2 or 3 times during my nap I woke up and took a big breathe in. I wouldnt call it “gasping” for air and I didn’t feel short of breathe. Maybe I just woke up right when i was breathing in?

I’m a heavier guy (5’6 and 240 lb ish)

I just looked up CPAP machines or whatever they are called. They are effin expensive. I cant afford to buy a 1000 dollar machine.

Ahhhhhh

I have mild sleep apnea. Based on my experiences with the machines, I would not get one. It made it nearly impossible to sleep. I would first try getting one these mouthpieces like I have.

I found the cpaps unbearable.

I read up on sleep apnea and it says your heart could be effected in a negative way. Has me a bit worried now. And losing weight is very difficult on Olanzapine. Shiiiiit.

Thanks for the reply Bowens.

Air quality in your room is important too. Not too hot, not too dry, not too moist, few dust microparticles…

My dentist thinks I have sleep apnea, but I think she’s confused with my nostrils not being open all the way. I have a closed left nostril.

I know its a common thing for heavier people like myself. I hope I sleep well tonight. Maybe i’ll avoid having naps.
