Hello, I can sing like a lark without medications but I have to take something. Would love a new drug but not sure what would be different and worth a shot? Would be pleased to hear from people with big ideas!
Thank you

Have you ever tried Geodon? I know several people who are on it and doing well.
Geodon and Seroquel are helping me a lot.
Maybe experiment with medications and sing and see how it works. I heard saphris was a good one, but someone on this forum didn’t like it. Everyone is different.
I’m on Geodon and Seroquel. The sedation takes some time to get used to but soon you don’t feel like you’ve taken anything. Risperdal helped but it has nasty side effects. Geodon is good because I think it’s considered weight neutral. Why can’t you sing on antipsychotics? If it’s because of motivation, Seroquel really helps with that. Good luck! I hope you find the right combo.
Thank you sun girl, I think it’s something to do with the effect on the nerves and muscles. Might try geodon as lots have recmended it! Enjoy your week
I am a musician and sing quite a bit…I am on prolixin (generic fluphenazine) at 5 mg twice a day and it does not keep me from singing…
Hi that’s good to hear but I take what I think is the same drug I’m uk based and can’t sing a note. I met a singer on olanzapine. I have m e though and think it’s a nervous system thing! Gutted!
Thank you I’ll research some more !
Did you find anything that works?
I’m facing the same issue
No unfortunately not I think they affect the nervous system needed for singing. Good luck if you experiment! Xx
Stay away from Risperdal Consta. I used to have a pretty fair singing voice. But, after I started on Risperdal Consta, I couldn’t sing a note. I’m still on it too. Still can’t sing a note.
Procycladine helps a little bit
Procycladine helps a bit
I can sing pretty fine on Risperidone but I’m on just 2mgs.
I’m on resperidone too. 2mg. I think it affects people differently. I can’t sing a note
I’ve encountered the same problem recently with antipsychotic medication. Say, did olanzepine work?
APs have nothing to do with singing.
