Singing is so good for the Soul, I sang my little heart out today and it was so good,
At first I wasn’t in the mood but the last 3 Hymns were just so good I couldn’t resist, my voice has improved a lot and I can see an improvement every time since I started going until now it’s a massive improvement.
i sing in the car as well, its great, the thing about this morning was bc i knew how much i have improved, it was the best i ever sang, and it felt easy, my whole wellbeing has improved, as far as i am concerned ‘the only way is up!’
I recorded myself singing once n wen I heard it back I was so awful. I was bit disappointed cos I thought I may be good lol.
Maybe if I practice that would change.
I do like singing too wen no one is around it feels therapeutic
I love to sing in the car. I read in a book in 2011 a self help book it was good for you. When I’m in a really good mood I sing and dance inside the car while driving
@Montezuma i hear you, i was dancing a little at a halloween party and having a good time, i love moving to the rythmn of the beat
@anon90843118 i think everyone has done that and it is very misleading, you will know when you are singing really good, it feels light and easy and not forced at all, i think when i use to sing i was forcing my voice to be something that it was not, i wasnt letting it come out naturally,
we think we should sing in a specific way but that is not true, everyone has the potential to sing, you just got to build on your strengths and let it be a natural progression,
i have been singing with the group for a while now and they really do guide me because i hear them and i try to blend in and make my voice sound better, so that it is more of a group effort and not just me, i cant explain it very well but the group does make a difference to my singing.
@Chess24 i agree with you that these things may help but singing lightens the heartstrings and depending on the lyrics it can actually strengthen your mind imo
i use to go to a mental health singing group but i was talking about while i was at the service this morning, the mental health group was very good as well as we worked on some popular songs, the Hymns are more structured and focused on certain aspects of Life in general.
i would love to be part of a mental health Singing group as i feel i could help and encourage people in their journey to accentuate their vocal proclavities
because i moved on to another group, it was a smaller group and only for about 1-2 hrs a week but i left and joined a clubhouse that is 9am-4.30pm 5 days a week, the comparison is substantial lol.
i am hoping that i can start a singing group at some point its for greater wellbeing and that is what we are trying to promote atm
A few Christmases ago I was singing the 12 days of Christmas and when I got to the big fiiive golden rings I did it quite enthusiastically and fell in the tub! I sing less exuberant songs now.
