thought i’d try the singing group, its on a Monday and i have been practicing a bit, will be singing today as well and sometimes certain songs can be a lot more uplifting than what has been in the charts (just hope my anxiety stays down.
Hope you enjoy
I have thought about singing as therapy
Hope you meet new people
Singing is good for the immune system I guess, it was in an article years ago and maybe I should get back to my choir practices too. I used to sing in a boy choir as a kid, and it got me to travel Europe one summer and it was such a blast. I’m really motivated by hearing about the new activities you’ve started and I hope nothing stonewalls you!
well the singing group went ok, we sang Hosanna and then a west side story called ‘i want to be in America’ and then we chatted for a while and it looks like they are looking for a volunteer but idk if i can do that, idk if i could lead a singing group, i normally just follow the crowd, maybe i can do it, idk
i have been working on my voice for a while and my confidence singing as well, normally hymns but i like them, i get fed up with pop songs all the time and i need something real life and closer to the heart, any way, we’ve to look out some songs for the group next week, should be fun, idk many songs though, most of the music i like is not easy to sing.
I’ve been avoiding singing! I plugged my PA in when I was playing electric guitar and if you don’t sound good the speakers tell EVERYONE.
Out of frustration of trying to play a difficult guitar part and singing the lyrics at the same I turned everything off and just went upstairs.
If I don’t practice for a day I know
If I don’t practice for two days my girlfriend knows
if I don’t practice for three days my whole surroundings know.
I’m trying to stay as consistent in my song writing as I can, but there’s alot of gardening and yardwork and weeding to be done at my new house, too.
So I’m trying to knock down both, work and work fun. I’ll mow my yards today, pack up a gretsch electric tomorrow and amp and go jam with my step dad.
enjoy the electric, i find singing with the acoustic a lot easier but i think its louder and drowns you out a bit i guess and helps you stay in key.
the music group died bc we had no funding so we couldn’t maintain it but it was fun while it lasted,
