What can i do since i am sick in bed because I’m so nauseous and lightheaded from my medication? (Latuda) i was just at the library helping my father on the computer. He dropped me off and i began feeling sick. I was supposed to go to have a drug test done for my new job that starts dec 4th. I have until the 23rd to take the drug test luckily, but this is the second day in a row that i am sick from meds. I don’t want this to continue. It’s uncomfortable. What can i do to heal and prevent nausea and headaches?
IMO if you’re just as dysfunctional on meds as off you’re not on the best med for you. I mean if you just started latuda then maybe this will go away but if not maybe try to find one that doesn’t prevent you from working.
Do you take Latuda with food? If not, take Latuda with 350+ calories of food.
If you’re already taking Latuda with food, then there is a medication that should stop the nausea. It’s called Phergan (promethazine).
I hope the nausea stops soon.
I like to use cinnamon for nausea. You can get tea that has cinnamon or you can add it to some applesauce or chew some cinnamon gum.
Make sure you’re drinking plenty of water to help with the headaches ok
My blood pressure is low
I have been taking latuda for 2 years, but on and off this yr. I just began taking them two weeks ago after i stopped taking them completely for 5 months. I havent been able to see a doctor and i dont have an appt until december 11th. Ive been adjusting my doses myself 80mg to 40mg…
your poor body and brain probably doesn’t know what’s going on. I think it’s dangerous to play around with your meds without a pdoc helping you. Get to the pdoc as soon as possible.
I have not been taking it with food. I took it about 4 hours after i ate dinner. I will try taking it with food. Thank you for suggesting promethazine. I will ask the doctor about that.
Thank you leaf!!
I was considering going to the hospital to change meds and be monitored. Do you think this is necessary?
I think you should get help from a trained professional, I don’t know how your symptoms are right now and whether or not you should go to the hospital. You have a long wait for the pdoc, so it is something to be considered.
Yeah i know there’s a lot i don’t know chemically going on with meds and my brain and body…it’s stressful to have obligations yet i don’t want to have voices or paranoia…people laughing at me or talking about me mad at me etc when I’m out…at the same time, not wanting side effects of nausea, light headedness, headaches, and then there’s muscle stiffness. That’s why i went from 80mg to 40mg.
I’m texting mobile crisis right now for advice. Maybe i can call a nurse.
good, I think that is wise
Latuda made me very nauseous too
I called two healthcare facilities and they recommended i go to the hospital because i wouldn’t be able to come in for appointments until december. It’s not a complete emergency, but it is really bothering me. I need to see someone sooner than December… It’s important that i spend thanksgiving with my fatherso i plan to go to the hospital after thanksgiving.
Smoke weed if you don’t have a drug test. I’m starting latuda tomorrow, what dose are you on?
And I heard u have to take it with a 350 calorie meal, am I right in guessing you took it on an empty stomach?
And for my own benefit, how does the latuda make u feel otherwise? Like what’s your review of it?
That sounds dangerous and I wouldn’t recommend it. Messing with doses can have really bad effects. Also you will not get full therapeutic effect of the med if you are taking it correctly only every other day. I feel you on the doctor struggle though it has been so hard to get an appt lately I’m literally about to barge into my pdocs office and be like “does your phone work?!” Jeez.
When gedon gave me low blood pressure I had to move very slowly to avoid passing out.
Wow Anna! That sounds bad what happened to you when you were taking Geodon. I had very bad experience with Geodon myself. The worst muscle stiffness, shortness of breath, and panic attacks.
I hope you get an appt soon sheesh…when the appt finally rolls around it’s a special day. I sure wish the docs were more enthused…lol
I can’t smoke. Drug test and i just don’t do well at all with that paranoia. To me the comfort of the high is not worth the discomfort of the massive paranoia.
Take latuda with meals, yes. My thing is if I take Latuda any other time besides right before bed, I’ll have muscle stiffness and drowsiness within hours. I’m able to sleep it off and wake up fine when i take it before need. The problem is and I don’t always eat RIGHT before bed so the nausea came.
So latuda has been good to me in the past 2 years if i took it at night.
If i took latuda in the morning or day, I would have muscle stiffness, drowsiness, a tight jaw, and a stiff tongue within a couple hours. I hope this doesn’t happen to you. I hope you have a better experience with it than me.
Latuda muted my voices. My downfall was that I used to smoke weed and my voices would come back full on. A few times I experienced psychosis and ended up having to get meds adjusted higher. I was up to the max dosage of latuda at 160mg at one point.
I took myself off of Latuda completely this past June. I had withdrawals for three weeks. Extreme nausea to the point of throwing up a few times. I wanted to see if I could do without meds and try holistic methods of healing, but that didn’t work out for me. So now, November, I’ve started back on Latuda on my own, but when I see a doctor, I’m going to ask about Invega injections or trying Zyprexa.
