TW: SA is mentioned at the end.
First, I’d wonder about the number of women that this happens to as opposed to men.
Second, though, I think things often have grey areas. I am acquainted with someone who has a son. The son is non-verbal and has the mental capacity of a 3 year old. He cannot perform any necessary basic function and is bedbound and requires around the clock caretakers. He is in his teens now and is growing a moustache. His mother called me to ask my opinion about razers and such for sensitive skin. He will never get better; there is no suddenly waking from that and being “normal.” I really want to believe that laws like this are in place because of people like him. The problem is that it’s abused and sometimes weaponized, as is mentioned in regards to the Black community. I realize that my opinion on what I described with the teen may not be popular. I used to feel differently until I read about the r*** of a girl in a similar situation who then became impregnated. It shouldn’t have happened at all, but the pregnancy just made things so much worse. I’d try to find that article, but I really don’t want to. Since I don’t want to find it, I cannot say it’s 100% true, and goodness, I hope that’s the case.
What is SA? 1515
Sexual assault.
Sorry folks, but this is very political and I have to close it.
