I dont play lottery prior to my onset. I’m playing it every week right now. It has been months i don’t get anything. I’m frustrated. It actually gives me a little hope something good can happen to me. In real life i dont think anything good is happening. But i feel stupid when i lose. I want to give up.
My advice is give up. Pay more attention on your job and recovery.
I never used to play the lottery, then I spent the equivalent of $50 on it and didn’t win anything. So I’m not playing it again.
I think $1 or $2 a week might be ok if you can afford it.
Some meds (I know abilify but maybe others) can cause gambling risk, which is a terrible sideeffect if you ask me…but yes you should give it up. Money isn’t everything but it’s important…which is why you shouldn’t throw it all away for the false little hope you can win some more than you already have!
Maybe you should not gamble, it is a part of my religion not to gamble. I am living in the society where slot machines are everywhere, every grocery store has at least one, I have never played these machines, people like to play lottery and other gambling games too, but again it is a part of my religion not to play these gambling games.
Yea there’s only one way to win at gambling…just don’t gamble…m
As long as it doesn’t become an obsession I don’t think it is bad. The odds against you winning are really high, but somebody has got to win it. The money they make off it goes towards education, so that’s good. I’ve been messing around with that Publisher’s Clearing House game. They lack integrity a little bit. They try to convince you that you’re going to win something and then try to sell you stuff. I always ignore that, and I’m starting to find their games tedious.
I’ve played it before but it is rare for me to do so. The odds are against you in the lottery. If you think about in terms of odds every dollar you spend is like getting a fraction of a cent back. However if it gives you hope then maybe it is worth it. Of course the bad feeling when you lose runs contrary to that. Overall if it makes you feel better and you can set aside that money in your budget why not buy a ticket every now and then.
Thanks for all of your input. It makes me think that I can change the focus and consider it a regular contribution to charity instead of gambling. Since I have a job, I feel good contributing one to two hours of wage every week for charity. It just covers all of my spending in lottery. It gives meaning to my contribution and my full time job. I shall take my focus off the reward. Afterall, above 80% of the lottery sales goes to charity in my country.
I have gambling from the abilify, it’s awfull
