Should I start receiving AP injections?

I can become dangerous and potentially Homicidal when off my meds or lowering the dose a bit.
I cannot afford to skip one dose and I’ve been a bit more forgetful as to when I take my meds.

Should I consider receiving Bi Weekly Risperidone injections?

It is completely your decision :v:️:v:️:v:️
You only need to make sure you have taken the pil form coz it might give side effects. I am happy with my :syringe:

Does Risperdal induce sleep??? I find it easier to take meds in the morning right when I wake up than at night… Which is why I take abilify in the morning rather than at night. It’s part of my morning routine. To take all my meds. I don’t take any afternoon or night time meds, except an occasion klonopin PRN which I barely take anymore.

I voted “yes”. I think you have good insight.

I divide my doses.
Risperdal doesn’t make me sleepy but it does add on to my lack of motivation.

I am a non violent peaceful person by nature.
It’s just that when I’m off my meds, I can become so Delusional and Paranoid that I do dangerous things to protect myself.

I really don’t ever want to experience this again.
Although I set alarms on my phone to remind myself to take my meds, I really can’t afford to skip one dose.

I’ve been considering getting the Risperdal injections. I start to feel horrible around this hour, as my medication is at its lowest point in my body. I must have depression on top of Sz (it runs in my family too). I just feel like absolute ■■■■.

My advice if you have problems remembering to take doses then go on the depot.
I was remembering to take oral meds 40-50% of the time. With depot over the 8 years I’ve been on it I’ve had about 97-98% of the injections I should have had within that time frame (2-3% lost due to going over the 14 day period several times). It’s not perfect but significantly better than before. The difference being if you are a few days late with the depot then the medication is still very much working in you system . You would have to go a fair number of weeks without for the medication to have completely cleared your system.

Like I said before, I have to set two alarms on my phone, one for my AM dose and one for my PM dose.
Then I mark down the times on my phone.
I have been taking my meds on time for the most part but there have been a couple of times when I have forgotten and have taken my meds hours later or I question if I have taken my doses at all.

My cognition has been a bit off lately.

I don’t know much about injections even though I used to get them myself. Everybody knows that injections are easier and more convenient than taking pills every day. I know there are other factors involved, but its easier to remember to go in for a shot every two weeks than it is for some people to remember taking them every day.

I spoke to my psychiatrist today and she doesn’t think that I am a good candidate for receiving the AP injections.
She said that I take my meds everyday so I should stick to the tablets.

She feels that AP injections are reserved for those people not taking their meds.

I too spoke to my pdoc about getting switched to the injections for Haldol and he said we will see if I continue to have problems. so maybe but the problem with injections are they stay in your system for a while. I mean what if you have side effects from the injections
