For so many years, people had been looking into the moon;
Just not too long ago, humans conquered the moon by sending spaceship to there;
Since then, the human life span still has not been extended further.

you mean after human went to the moon,human life span has been the same,while there was a increase in human life span before human went to the moon?
No, what I meant was, or it can be summarized as “science cannot defeat death”. Does this make sense?
@Gtx1990, may be you can compare it with the Chinese version.
多少年了,人们抬头仰望月亮;
直到不久前,人类征服了月亮登陆了月球;
可是人类的寿命并没有因此得到延长。
once I saw her face, the woman in the moon
on a broken clock in a backwards time
where my mother was sane and I had more to believe in
than illusions of the self and property
where time would stop repeatedly
only to begin again when we were set free.
@StarryNight, yours is truly a poem.
Even though it is beyond my understanding, I still think it is a much better poem than mine.
I think I got a little sense of it…no matter how great science are,human life is going to be quite similiar
Don’t read Chinese - I wish I did,
I was thinking more - We turn our focus on what’s out there and less on human being right here.
I can say I composed the English poem very similar to its Chinese counterpart. I am not good in writing essays and poems using any languages.
I do not quite understand it…???
Exploring outer space instead of inner space for instance. Looking into the mind/body’s possible capacity to heal itself instead of seeking newer + better medical techniques.
A very broad range of ideas.
I am quite agreed with it.
In some societies people are expecting to live over 100 years, I think that the science, especially medical, has increased the human life span.
Very good! Is this original?
I’m always glad to see a bit of sardonic humor.
