They’re making progress in generating quantities of stem cells for therapeutic use all the time.
I think after a sizeable number of people with Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s receive treatments like these, sz won’t be too far behind.

“In psychiatry, the theory is that these HSC migrate to areas of inflammation in the brain via chemotaxis, and, through immunomodulation and secretion of bioactive molecules enhance neurogenesis, angiogenesis and remodeling of axonal circuits.”
“Studies on schizophrenic patients have confirmed both, that it is an inflammatory condition (cytokines and interleukins are elevated when compared to controls) and, that the brain is underdeveloped due to deficient neurogenesis; supporting why HSC assisted in the dramatic clinical improvement observed in this patient, which would otherwise could not be explained by the natural history of the disease or therapeutic measures alone.”
Stem cells strike again!!
How long will it take before its our turn? Are they already phase 3 testing Stem cells for Parkinsons and Alzheimers?
After parkinson and alzhimers its szphrenic turn… holy christ…!!! Oh hell…!!!
Lets keep an eye on this. Seems if all goes well we can see stem cell trials for sz in next five years probably.
Sounds promising. Lets hope so.
Nature Cell’s stem cell treatment for Alzheimer’s approved in Japan:
So far, Nature Cell has developed stem cell therapies including Joint Stem, targeting osteoarthritis, and Astro Stem for Alzheimer’s disease, both of which have concluded phase 2 clinical trials in the US.
I have heard stem cell for sz medicine has already started in john hopkinson and salk lake city uni… u can google it…
Please provide link for others so if any body is reading the thread can get all the information in one page.
Let me try…

Exciting news. 15
Looks like Parkinson’s is in phase 1, which surprised me a little that it’s not further along because there’s actually been a lot of experimentation with stem cells in Parkinson’s dating even back to the 90s before there were even iPSCs and they used fetal cells. Probably all the folks with Parkinson’s feel frustrated too.
I have not read anything explicitly stating that researchers are waiting for universal donor cells to try in sz, that is just my thoughts on an important advancement that would go a long way to reducing risk.
Here is what i could find from Johns Hopkins and Salk:
Thats great u found those link…take care …
If this research succed we gonna get effective medication between 10 to 20 yrs…!!!
Finger crossed…!!!
What do u think @GentleSoul…??
10 to 20 is a long time to wait but sounds reasonable. (Sigh)
Seems they are using stem cells to do research. Not sure if it necessarily means they are working on stem cell therapy.
