Seroquel and hypotension

If I have natural hypotension or bradychardia. Will I die from taking Seroquel? It apparently lowers your blood pressure. I take 300 mg. I can’t ask my doctor for another 2 weeks.

You can always call and ask. Just leave a message. If you start passing out, go to the ER. I have a heart condition that causes my bp to drop and also have low bp and it wasn’t affected by seroquel. But you might be. Everyone is different. Just pay attention to it. Maybe monitor your bp a little more closely for a while.

Ok I will. I asked because I become very faint.

Are you getting enough fluids/electrolytes? Also, if you feel you’re about to pass out you can make yourself cough really hard and it’ll help. My favorite cardiologist taught me that trick and it’s served me well over the years.

Have you checked your bp? Do you have a cuff at home you can check it? If not, maybe go to a pharmacy and check it so you can give your doctor more information.

My bp is 45 at the moment and just had some oatmeal, orange juice and a banana.

45? Is that the diastolic number? Or are you talking about pulse?

Lay down and drink a ton of Gatorade or something similar. Get your blood volume up a bit to help.

I’m not a doctor but I was on Seroquel. The highest dose for me was 800mg and I was ok with it for a while. I also have a heart condition(valve prolapse or something like that) but the drug is slow release so I think you’re safe. It can create addiction and you will gain some weight while taking it.

Oh it’s 80/45…

You should call your doctor and let them know. If you pass out, get to the ER just to be safe if this isn’t something you normally deal with. But definitely let your doctor know. You’ll likely need to stop taking the seroquel, so let him know ASAP.
