Seasonal Changes in Mood/Behavior?

I’m diagnosed with Schizophrenia and Borderline Personality Disorder (and exploring the possibility of C-PTSD)

I’ve noticed that there’s a significant change in my mood and motivations during the Fall season. I’m not sure if this is due to Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas during this season or if it’s the absolutely lovely weather.

But I’m usually rather depressed, withdrawn and can’t find any motivation, drive and my brain doesn’t connect two and two together for doing things like chores and stuff.

But during the Fall, these seem to get a bit better and I’m more motivated than I’ve been in a while.

Like. I feel like my spirit is buzzing with some sort of excitement but I have no way to release this energy. And I don’t know why, but it always seems to happen during the Fall. I don’t have periods of mania or depression, but this kind of feels like it might be mania? It’s difficult to describe.

Does anyone else experience something similar?

Me, I get worse around the fall precisely… I have to check the winter too :smirk:
I am more positive in spring and summer lol, but the too much heat can be a problem too.
Yeah, me too I wonder if the seasons affect us, but it’s very probable :grinning:
Take care!!

I used to get Spring fever really badly, but I don’t do that now. Fall is probably the best time of year for me. Maybe you should take up a hobby to get rid of the excess energy. I know how that anxious, buzzing feeling can be. It’s better than being depressed. I’m so glad I don’t get depressed now like I did when I was young.

Fall n winter is my binge drinking season, I’m always depressed this time of year so I get wasted and Russian roulette myself — to my disappointment I always wake up

Anyway - yer not alone the holidays are crap for me too

Actually yes. My sister does. She struggles throughout the rest of the year but does well in the colder months. She’s the opposite of me. She enjoys cooler weather, overcast, rain, snow, and all the holidays. She gets really energetic and does extra projects. My sister doesn’t have sz.

It is common for people with mood disorders to have one season that is much better for them. Mine is Spring. Once the snow melts and the days get longer, I am a bubbly ball of joy for about 6 weeks until it gets Too Hot.
