Should I go back to school for something like paralegal or accounting? Something that can get me a job (which I’m not sure I’m ready for).
Or should I go to school for a hobby and follow my passions? Like philosophy or theology.

I’ve heard that being a paralegal is getting a secretary’s pay for a lawyer’s work. Maybe you can get something better. I would imagine that finances would dictate what you go to school for.
no get something where you can support yourself
Yeah I’m leaning torwards an AAS in accounting. I have about half a year left in my GI bill. And our local community college has dirt cheap tuition.
Is it possible to major in job and fill in a few electives with hobby/ passions?
Also, I went the passions way in college and am now without a career realizing I could have easily continued my hobby if I had gotten an okay job…
Accounting is well paid and probably starts at better pay than a paralegal. You also have the chance to one day go full CPA and make enough money to support even an expensive hobby or late life career change to philosopher because you have saved so much money.
Also, if you are not ready for a job when you graduate, that’s okay!! Then start in on the philosophy and/or theology…
I am trying to encourage you without any of the pressure
I agree. You’re not pressuring just encouraging. I’m enrolled in some accounting classes now. Thank you for the insight. Blessings.
I set out going to university to make a career, did a dubble BSc in math and economics, this was going to make me filthy rich - or so I thought. Didn’t went well, I guess a discipline and motivation problem.
I switched to philosophy and despite the onset of sz interfering along the way, it has been the best choice in my life. Careers will be harder to find, that is for sure. I am pursuing a career in academia, but if that doesn’t work out, I will still be satisfied. These years filled with the joy of learning what I find most interesting are here to stay.
