Schizophrenia

Hi does anyone here think I have schizophrenia? I have real bad physical symptoms. My concern is that I’m believing I have things like MS and schizophrenia, but I haven’t been diagnosed with either. Am I delusional, I think so yes. I mean I dont want to be thinking and believing these things, but they are strong beliefs within me.

I’m not getting why I believe these things, especially if docs are telling me, I dont have them. My days are clumsy and awkward, is that a symptom of schizophrenia? Being unbalanced and awkward? And annoyed with oneself because I cant do much nor do I want to right now. I’m sleepy a lot, need to nap every day.

I do not hallucinate or hear voices, but my thoughts are not normal, are they? Sometimes I think my neighbor’s are recording me and watching me, told my pdoc all this. Maybe I’m imagining things. I’m not sure somataform disorder fits my symptoms although it has all my symptoms too, but the meds I’m taking are not first line treatment for somataform disorder. Just lately my pdoc says I have treatment resistant depression, but I’m depressed due to my physical symptoms. One is bound to be down and out, having a woozy head every day, and not being able to cook, clean nothing because my focus and concentration are gone too.

It’s all just strange because I feel my body is not mine, I mean it won’t do what i want it to do, if you can understand. Cant function properly at all. It’s so debilitating and frustrating.

I’m taking more meds than most, and not getting better so obviously the zyprexa will take time to kick in, but I certainly don’t want to be stuck to the chair with it, hopefully it will help boost me not debilitate me further.

Anyway just thought I would ask you guys what you make of me. Am I displaying schizophrenia type symptoms?

Thanks

There’s a lot of overlap in symptoms between metal disorders.

Psychiatrists are trained to decide which metal disorders you have based on your symptoms.

If they’re saying you don’t have schizophrenia, then you’ve got good news and the future is a little bit brighter.

Feeling secretly monitored is one of the symptons of schizo. I also have that delusion.

Did your symptoms come on quickly?

I honestly have no idea. You could be a troll with Munchausen by Internet. This is a question for a real doctor in real life.

Yes thanks, I’m probably imagining I’ve schizophrenia. I did get good news, that I dont have it, you’re right.

Have complex issues so have to trust what my psychiatrist tells me.

I’ve just got a copy of a letter my psychiatrist sent to my Gp, and in it, it says, I’ve DRDD, cluster B personality traits. Dont know what DRDD stands for. Plus depression with somataform disorder plus, health anxiety, plus functional symptoms due to traumas.

That’s what’s in the letter to my GP. Went to have a vitamin B12 injection and asked for a copy of my pdocs letter about me.

Just thought I would let you guys know about the letter.

Thanks for that.

Yes, in 2014 I started to feel unwell. Unbalanced and fullness in my head. Got steadily worse as time went by.

For what it’s worth, if your pdoc says you don’t have sz/sza, then I say you don’t have sz/sza.

Why don’t you ask your pdoc what your diagnosis is? He/she is the expert.

Hi, thanks. Just got a copy today of my pdocs letter to my GP .

My diagnosis is DRDD, with cluster b personality traits. Depressive illness with somataform disorder. Functional symptoms due to traumas.

Dont know what DRDD stands for. Probably something to do with Depression maybe. Not sure. I definitely think my beliefs are abnormal. But it’s hard to shift them. Today I still believe I have MS. I am probably delusional as well.

You need to see a neurologist. Have you had EMG done? Or other neurological tests? Have you had a brain scan?

You said you have hyperreflexia before. Are you on medications that cause hyperreflexia? Or do you have diseases like hypothyroidism?

I live with a neurodegenerative disorder that mimics MS but it’s not MS. I also was told it was all in my head. You need to be examined by a neurologist to see if you qualify for a diagnosis of MS, or if you qualify for other demylineating disorders or motor neuron diseases.

Since most of us don’t have MS or other motor neuron diseases, I’m not sure you will get the answers that you need. Please consult a neurologist.

Hi I have hypothyroidism. I did have lumbar puncture and EMG testing back in 2014, plus visual evoked potential testing. Since then I have not got better.

My balance is poor. And I just recently went to my GP who is arranging a new brain scan. I have had several brain scans since 2014. All are saying can be MS, small vessel disease, migraine, trauma, infective, seen in smoker’s etc…

Lots of different things it can be. No neurologists diagnosed me with anything and all said, it isn’t MS or any other neurological disorder. Yet I do have neurological symptoms.

I’ve numerous white matter spots, mainly in right frontal lobe. But they are non specific. Can be caused by any of the above or by none of the above.

Maybe new scan will tell if there has been any change. I’ll have the scan soon. So far the changes seen are stable with no progression it says on one of my many reports.

All my reports are a bit different in their medical jargon. Will see what next report says. Last scan I had was in 2019.

Thanks for your thoughts, hope you keeping well.
