Oh geez !
What does that word mean to you?
split personality.
Guess I don’t like the term…
It’s a cluster of symptoms, right? With science and stuff, that’s the dsm, they describe it based on behavior, “I see things” “I hear things” “I think stuffs happening which isn’t happening” … so it pops up in late adolescence, they put them all in a facility, educated people deal with them, then they come together in a conference and are like; “this is what I saw, this is how they are” so you assess behaviors, do some counting, then you’re narrowing down what it looks like, its chronic … So then they’re like, looks like you got this for life. Every population has this, its heritable, its genetic, so the word in chinese or hindi isn’t schizophrenia most likely.
Eugenecist is a term for the cleansing of undesirables.
I think eugenics was just a thing back then man…like in the future everyone might say common accepted dead ends now…we’ll have pushed past them. Nobody will tell anybody not to have kids…they’ll just be like crispr…family planning, superior medicine…different sorts of advancements.
Economic growth…free people up as the world gets richer, life is great there’s no farming to do, so no need to have 18 pregnancies…also more babies pull through… because of lower infant mortality, vaccinations…mental health is better taken care of, we figure out social security…collect data, use the data to feed to machines which figure out how to better treat illnesses.
Better treatment = better life even without cure.
Better food, less diseases of old age, longer health span and lifespan…healthy food everywhere so people aren’t clogging up arteries and stuff. Virtual reality, people are walking around playing super fun pokemon go.
Work becomes funner, no traffic, less stress, less friction. Less drudgery. More freedom…spontaneity.
And just monitoring health…heart rate…from remote locations, so you’re responding faster…saving money, improving peoples’ quality of life.
Machines make medical care inpatient…outpatient more efficient. Their lives get better they make other peoples’ lives better…so then there’s no need to control that…ethics aside.
Schizophrenia is more like a group of problems attributed to one identity. I don’t think its useful for researchers to call it all one thing, but I do think its useful in general to call them all one thing, because generally the same meds work on them.
I would hate for funding for positive or negative symptoms to get cut but if it matters I guess that’s up to the grant writers.
Damn, his last name is harder to pronounce than schizophrenia.
well his name is eugen lol
schizophrenia is a bit of a blanket term for a bunch of severe mental health symptoms
