What’s the difference between the depressive form of sza and ‘straightforward’ sz? I get depressed when the voices are bad does that mean I’m sza?
Thanks

Sza is sz with a mood component. So basically if schizophrenia and depression had a baby …that’s sza depressive type.
Depends on doctor and where you live I’ve found.
It is schizophrenia with a mood component but most people with schizophrenia at least suffer depression.
I’ve found it can be about where your live…America is fond of sz affective diagnosis. I suppose it can be a moot problem…both suck pretty bad!
I was told it’s like schizophrenia and bipolar together, maybe I’m bipolar type and that’s why. So I have mild sz on top of bouts of hypomania or major depressive episodes or mixed episodes. I’m medicated with antipsychotics, a mood stabilizer and an antidepressant.
I will also add that with sza you can still be psychotic without mood symptoms.
I’m sza. All my life I had severe depression with suicidal ideation along with severe paranoia, telepathy, mindreading, some paranoid and grandiose delusions, delusions of reference, and hallucinations in all sensory spheres. I had a few manic episodes during my lifetime as well. I went several years being very paranoid with no mood symptoms.
