Saved a hundred dollars?

My printer stopped printing about a week and a half ago. I was going to go to HP chat because they fixed it about a month ago for free but chat is a hassle so I was going to call HP tech support and have them fix it. I’ve been putting it off because I don’t like being on the phone that long even though the agent is usually nice.

I was going to call them right now when I remembered the first thing tech support has you do is power off the computer and unplug it for one minute, then plug it back in. I was going to be too lazy to try that myself but the thought of paying $100 for tech support motivated me to try that solution. And it worked! My printer is back online and I was almost so lazy I was just minutes away from spending a $100.

That’s my go to for fixing computers and electronics. Just unplug it and reboot.

New printers are quite inexpensive these days. If your printer is a few years old and malfunctioning and you can’t fix it yourself (like you were able to fix it this time around) you may be better off just buying a new printer.

Yeah, it was $70; I just bought it a few months ago. I think tech support cost $99.
A chat is free though, the guy in chat took control of my screen and fixed it pretty fast but it was kinda difficult following his instructions.
